The beginning
In the summer of 2005, Kike & Annie Garcia travelled to Chiang Mai fully intending to have just a relaxing holiday. They spent two weeks in Chiang Mai and fell in love with the culture, charm & fascination of the city. In their wondering around the city they found a small house with a beautiful garden – the type of garden they had always dreamed about. On finding this garden tucked away in a quiet lane near ChiangMai University they knew it was time to end their holiday, get back to work and continue their Mi Casa story episode II. Today they have one of the most exciting restaurants in Northern Thailand. As one of their customers recently said, “Every meal I have had here has been a unique delight of flavor texture and incredible value. Senor Garcia is an incredible chef
The Chef, Kike Garcia
Kike was born in Bilbao - Northern Spain. He developed his interest in cooking from his Mother and after school entered catering college in Bilbao. Following training he continued to develop his skills at one of the most famous Restaurants in Northern Spain. With his skills, huge talent and enthusiasm he was soon anxious to know more about the different cuisines and cultures of the world. After six years in Bilbao he began his travels in Asia, first it was Japan then New Zealand, Bali, Shanghai & Hong Kong. During his travels he gained an extensive awareness and experience working in hotels and restaurants as a chef or consultant for more than 10 years before establishing his own restaurant “Mi Casa Stanley” in Hong Kong in 2002. It was a holiday in Chiang Mai that led to a new direction and Mi Casa episode II.
Mediterranean Cuisine
Chef Kike has developed a most exciting and flexible menu at Mi Casa, constantly changing and seeking the best from the many fresh ingredients to be found in Thailand. Though he comes from and has been influenced by one of the great European cuisines he continues to bring innovation, originality and exciting flavors to his menu. You will find great Tapas and other Spanish influenced dishes but overriding this exciting restaurant is an attention to detail, new exciting flavors and the promise of a meal you will remember for a long time.
The Welcome
Great chefs make great restaurants but adding to the experience are very attentive staff led by the Annie Ting. Nothing is too much trouble and the warm welcome ones received adds enormously to the restaurant. |
